Our Mission
At SSD Experts, our mission is straightforward: help people with disabilities get the Social Security Disability Insurance benefits they've earned. The SSDI system is notoriously complex, and the majority of initial applications — between 60% and 70% — are denied. That's not because people don't deserve benefits. It's because the process is difficult to navigate alone.
We exist to level the playing field. From your very first question about whether you might qualify, through the initial application, and all the way through the appeals process if necessary, SSD Experts provides the experienced guidance that can make the difference between approval and denial.
Who We Are
SSD Experts is a team of experienced disability advocates and case managers dedicated to helping Americans access the benefits they've paid into through years of work. We are not a law firm, and we do not provide legal advice. We are a disability advocacy and consulting service — specialists who understand the SSDI system deeply and know how to help claimants present the strongest possible case.
Our team has helped hundreds of claimants across the United States navigate the SSDI process. We understand what Social Security's Disability Determination Services (DDS) examiners look for, what medical evidence matters most, and how to effectively communicate the impact of a disability on a person's ability to work.
What We Do
We provide comprehensive support throughout the SSDI process, including:
- Free case evaluations — we review your situation and give you an honest assessment of your eligibility and options
- Application assistance — we help you complete your initial SSDI application thoroughly and accurately
- Medical evidence review — we help ensure your medical records tell the full story of how your condition affects your daily functioning
- Appeal support — if you've been denied, we help you request reconsideration and prepare for Administrative Law Judge (ALJ) hearings
- Ongoing case management — we stay in contact throughout your case, tracking deadlines and keeping you informed
- Resource connection — we connect claimants with the right legal, medical, and community resources when additional support is needed
Why We Exist
Most people who apply for SSDI do so without any professional guidance. They fill out complex forms on their own, submit incomplete medical records, and miss opportunities to strengthen their case. The result is a system that feels designed to deny — and for the unrepresented claimant, it often is.
The Social Security Administration's own data consistently shows that claimants who have professional representation are significantly more likely to win approval, particularly at the hearing level. Studies suggest that represented claimants are approved at rates more than twice as high as unrepresented ones.
We started SSD Experts because we saw too many deserving people give up on their claims — not because they didn't qualify, but because the process defeated them. Our goal is to make sure that doesn't happen to you.
Important context: The SSDI initial denial rate of 60–70% is not a reflection of applicants' medical conditions — it's a reflection of how complex and documentation-intensive the process is. Having expert guidance dramatically improves outcomes at every stage.
How We're Paid — Transparent Contingency Fees
We operate on a contingency basis, which means: you pay nothing upfront, and you owe us nothing if we don't win your case.
If we help you obtain SSDI benefits, we receive a fee from your back pay — the lump sum the SSA pays to cover the period from your disability onset date to your approval date. This fee structure is strictly regulated by the Social Security Administration:
- The maximum fee is capped at 25% of your back pay
- The absolute maximum is $9,200 (SSA-regulated cap)
- The fee is taken directly from your back pay — you never write us a check
- If you don't win, you don't owe us anything
This structure aligns our interests completely with yours: we only succeed when you do.
Who We Help
SSD Experts works with adults who meet the basic SSDI eligibility framework:
- Adults typically between ages 18 and 64
- Have worked 5 of the last 10 years and paid into Social Security
- Have a physical or emotional/mental health condition that limits their ability to work consistently
- The condition is expected to last at least 12 months or result in death
- Current monthly earnings are below the Substantial Gainful Activity (SGA) threshold
We serve claimants at all stages — those just beginning to think about applying, those whose initial applications were denied, and those who have been waiting for an ALJ hearing date for months or years. It is never too early or too late to reach out.
Our Commitment to You
When you work with SSD Experts, you can expect honest, responsive communication — not empty promises. We'll tell you what we honestly think about your case, including when the prospects are uncertain. We'd rather give you accurate information than tell you what you want to hear.
We provide nationwide service, working with claimants in all 50 states. Our process is 100% remote — you never need to travel to an office. We handle everything over phone and email, so getting help doesn't add another burden to your already difficult situation.
⚠️ Legal disclaimer: SSD Experts is a disability advocacy and consulting service. We are not a law firm and do not provide legal advice. For legal representation at ALJ hearings or federal court, we can connect you with qualified disability attorneys in our network.
